The Alchemy of Power In Relationships ~ Embracing authentic choice rather than submission

What would it be like to make choices from inner balance and authenticity?

When: Wednesdays 11:30-1:00 CST - September 9 - October 28

Where: via Zoom

Fee: $315 ~ We want to make the course available regardless of resources, so please contact us to discuss a payment plan.

Within Nonviolent Communication, power is “the capacity to mobilize resources to meet needs.” Fostering connection and trust can occur when we’re aware of our internal and external resources. In this course, we explore how NVC offers us the tools and vision to grow the skills needed to share power rather than continuing the social conditioning of exercising ‘power over’ others to meet our needs.

We hope you’ll join us as we alchemize a “power over” experience to a “power with” life!

Based on The Vortex of Submission by colleagues Jim & Jori Manske, we will explore:

  1. How submission and disappointment can lead to a denial of responsibility.

  2. How unspoken expectations can lead to demands of others.

  3. How resentment leads to the evaluation and diagnosing of others.

  4. How rebellion leads to punitive thinking.

  5. How guilt, depression, and shame have the opportunity of leading to beneficial regret, an NVC apology.

  6. And, how the awareness of perceptual reorientation becomes a turning point in relationships.

Within this 8 week class, we’ll explore together the journey of submission internally in the relationship with ourselves and the impact of submission externally in our lives. Rephrased from mindfulness teacher Tara Brach in her book True Refuge, the most intimate relationship we have is with ourselves and there’s a direct impact of this relationship on those around us. Come and discover more about the transformative experience of embracing authentic choice rather than living in the tyranny of submission.

I hope you’ll join PJ and I for The Alchemy of Power. It will be a juicy experience!
